Rapid Performance Improvement (RPI)

Phase IV Overview

During Phase IV (Deploy):

  • Deployment plans are developed.
  • People are trained (as needed) on the revised process
  • The modified process is performed as defined and agreed to.
  • A "help desk" is established to ensure people understand how to perform the process, and to mentor them through the activities
  • Measurements are collected and a new performance baseline is established
  • At the end of the phase, affected groups are asked to provide lessons learned
  • The new practice may be appraised/assessed against the standards and models used.

Before deployment, specific training needs are identified. These become the basis for ensuring that staff have the right skills and knowledge to perform their assigned tasks. This is done without losing sight that most people will learn best by doing.

Risks and issues with deploying the processes are continuously discussed and revised based on current information.
